BEERJET 2
NOW OFFICIALLY APPROVED BY GUINNESS
Guinness is one of the few beers in the world for which the manufacturer specifies the equipment that may be used to dispense it. Diageo assesses each dispensing method individually and approves them on a case-by-case basis. The list of approved systems is correspondingly short, and it is significantly shorter still when it comes to fully automatic dispensing systems.
Der BEERJET 2 steht jetzt darauf und hat die Guinness-Zulassung.
Why this is special for an automated system
Pulling a Guinness is a craft. The classic two-stage pouring process within a set time of 119 seconds, the resting period whilst the head settles, the correct angle, the right moment. All of this is taught and assessed in the hospitality industry; at Guinness, they even have their own training programmes.
That is precisely why Guinness was long regarded as the beer that had eluded automation. A machine can be fast, or it can be meticulous. But being both at the same time – reproducible a thousand times over and identical in every glass – was the real hurdle.
The BEERJET 2 overcomes this hurdle. The Guinness certification awarded by Diageo confirms that the system fully automatically meets Guinness’s specifications for the single-stage pouring process – completed in approximately 15 seconds – as well as for head formation and presentation. Not just once, but for every single glass, simply at the touch of a button.
What Guinness accreditation means in practice
Until now, anyone wishing to serve Guinness correctly needed trained staff and time – two things that are rarely available at the same time during peak periods. This is precisely where the licence comes in: Guinness can now be served even in places where a large number of guests need to be served within a few minutes.
Stadium and arena
Half-time is the toughest test for any bar
Event catering and festivals
High turnover, changing staff, no scope for training
Catering and the hospitality industry
Consistent quality, regardless of who is behind the bar
Après-ski
Maximum throughput during short peak periods
Beerjet in action: Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund
There are already 20 BEERJET 6 systems in operation at Germany’s largest football stadium. For the 2026/27 season, nine BEERJET 2 systems will be added, which will be used to serve Guinness at selected kiosks.
The figures speak for themselves: around 13,000 hectolitres of beer (1.3 million litres) are served there each season, in front of up to 81,365 spectators. The bar has to be up and running within a few minutes; otherwise, it simply won’t work.
We are proud that, with the BEERJET 6 and BEERJET 2, we are able to meet the high standards required to guarantee a unique drinking and fan experience week in, week out.
